We wanted to thank the Dublin Community for the amazing outpouring of support we received this weekend. The Dublin Jerome Lady Celts hosted a Hoops for the Cure Event to raise money for St. Baldrick’s Foundation which funds childhood cancer research in honor of JJ. It was a fantastic event and many of JJ’s past teammates came to show their support. JJ was able to come to Larkin’s JV game for a bit and was able to see her play and cheer them on to a solid victory. Congratulations to the varsity team for a great win as well! JJ was so brave to go and he was so touched to see so many of his teammates.
Kyle Alfriend and his real estate group hosted a Fight To Win event at the Dublin AMC Movie Theaters and our family was so blessed to be chosen to benefit from the event this year. We are so inspired by Kyle’s son, Tyler’s victory over cancer. Luke, Larkin and Zach attended and thought it was so great to see so many people supporting us. We are very thankful to Kyle for the guidance, hope and support he has been giving us.
The St. Brigid Women’s retreat also was this weekend and they offered up retreat to the healing and merciful love of JJ and our family. It feels so good knowing that 50 women were praying for JJ’s healing and for our family this weekend and will continue to pray.
JJ has been doing well. He is really enjoying his Auntie Annie’s visit, she has him playing cards and Battleship. JJ had fun flying his drone and playing video games with his cousins and brother this weekend. He is working hard at trying to eat more, a little bit at a time, get some more exercise and has started back working with his home instruction teacher.
Larkin and Zach are doing great. Larkin is gearing up for the Valentine’s Dance. I was able to make it out to go dress shopping with her and it was so nice to have that special time together. Zach and I exchanged foot rubs the other night as he filled me in on what was going on with him. It was so great to get some one-on-one time with each of them.
We are thankful for each good day we have. We are confident that this phase of treatment will knock out whatever leukemia was left and the next bone marrow test will show no trace of cancer!
Thank you for your continued prayers and support. Please continue to pray for JJ and his FOREVER CURE!
