Central Ohio Housing Market Update

So far, 2017 is looking a lot like 2016. Despite 2,170 homes being added to the market (just 2% less than last year), inventory remains at an all-time low. We’re seeing a mass influx of newcomers to Central Ohio, and the supply simply can’t keep up with the demand.Columbus Board of Realtors President Mic Gordon recently said, “Month after month, we’re seeing new records set for the Central Ohio housing market. As long as inventory remains at record lows and demand remains strong, prices will continue to rise.”

If this trend continues, this will be a great year for anyone looking to sell their home. Columbus remains one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country, and with a diverse, booming economy, many experts are expecting a 50% population growth (approximately 1,000,000 people) over the next 25 years.
